When loading an image to the desktop in PixInsight 1.9.3, image id is not any more the file name but a system generated id. If the image is a XISF image that is created with PixInsight 1.9.3 then the image id is saved to the image metadata and the correct image id is used. But when loading an older XISF image or for example a TIFF image, a system generated id is set for the image.
AutoIntegrate uses image id to find images for example for AutoContinue. For this reason, starting with AutoIntegrate v1.74 also the file name is used when searching for images from the desktop.
There is also some automatic renaming of images when using AutoIntegrate v1.74. When images are searched for AutoContinue and for example image id Image23 is found with file name Integration_R.xisf, the image id is automatically renamed as Integration_R. This renaming is done only when AutoIntegrate detects an automatically generated image id in the format Image+.
Also when an image is loaded as a target image for extra processing, the edited image is renamed when automatic image id is detected. So when image AutoLRGB_PS.tif is loaded to the desktop it may get image id Image15. When that image is edited using extra processing in AutoIntegrate, the image id will be AutoLRGB_PS_1 and not Image15_1.
For now there is no option to disable this automatic renaming. If needed some configuration options can be added.
