Peter,
Awesome job there! Really nice colors and layout. Did you use Jarmo’s astromosaic tool to layout the professional observatory data? If so, that is really neat!
Clear Skies,
Paul
Hello Paul.
Thank you so much for your message.
I didn’t use that tool. It’s a bought data set and there are jpeg images showing how it looks.
The data set was a nightmare to process and was taken off the site by Mike. I struggled for months trying to get the subs to even stack, never mind getting an image.
As you can see I have managed it and really happy with how it turned out. The crop was savage as the Ha O3 were about 20 degrees rotated from the RGB set.
Forgive me for being vague on how it went together. I’m not very good at this and sort of let it run and if it stopped half way through…which it did often with this data set. Not the scripts fault.
I changed a few things and ran it again. I think I did 7-8 runs before hitting on this image.
I’ve only just discovered I can save the settings
Hence my being in awe of Jarmo’s script. It let’s me produce images I wouldn’t be able to make long hand as it were
Have a great day and clear skies
Peter
Hi Peter,
A great image! I also like the colors and overall processing a lot. Even though you said it was heavily cropped there are also nice details.
The reference to the autointegrate is good. Basically you can put whatever you like, or leave it out. In the equipment section you can also add AutoIntegrate script.
