Astro Mosaic v1.84 - Filtering changes

Changes in Astro Mosaic v1.84

Updates

  • Rising filter — New catalog filter that shows only objects whose altitude is increasing over a selected period (1–4 weeks). Rising targets are annotated with the expected altitude change (e.g. ↑+8°), helping you plan observations that stay viable even if weather delays your session.
  • Multiple time filtering — The time filter now accepts multiple times separated by commas (e.g. 22:00,02:00). All specified times must meet the altitude threshold, making it easy to find targets that remain well-positioned throughout your imaging session.
  • Type filter — Filter catalog objects by type with a free-text search (e.g. “galaxy”, “nebula”). The match is case-insensitive and partial.
  • Caldwell catalog — The Caldwell catalog (109 deep-sky objects) is now available as a built-in catalog.

Fixes and Improvements

  • Improved performance by reusing the Aladin viewer instance instead of recreating it on every call.
  • Catalog filtering calculations optimized for faster response with large catalogs.
  • UI polish: shortened filter labels, updated tutorial, improved target format info button.
